The main reason for implementing this training course is the need to work on the following question: How can we make a difference given the challenge of increasing racism and discrimination against people of diverse background? What kind of changes are needed at a structural and operational level to support that our organizations take clear positions and display coherent behavior? How can we start reflective processes on actions to be taken and pursue respective change in our organizations? Which change processes lead to success? The project was developed as an accompanying measure in the frame of the “STAR E” Strategic Partnership Project https://star-e.icja.de/ which is currently being implemented by ICJA with 8 partner organizations from 2017 – 2020. We are pleased to announce that we can count on the expert organization SOCIUS https://socius.de/ to run the training programme. Socius over the past 20 Years has worked with hundreds of NGO’s, foundations, Universities and governmental institutions and is widely recognized as an expert in the field of organizational development and change.


The training sessions will constantly inter-relate the values of diversity-orientation, anti-discrimination and inclusion with reflections and practical learning about change management in youth and voluntary service NGOs. The main mode of learning will be to briefly learn about key concepts of organizational and systems change, try out practical tools and models and reflect about their relevance for participating organizations. In this training programme you will learn:

Competence Area 1: Introducing diversity and inclusion and understanding organisations: How can we understand and describe formal and informal arenas of organizations? How to generate motivation and energy for change processes?

Competence Area 2: CHANGE in organisations: Visioning work and facilitating group processes – powerful tools for organizational change

Competence Area 3: ANALYSIS and how to work on Organisation’s CULTURES AND STRUCTURES: Organizational culture and structures-two sides of a coin. How do we tackle them and set impulses for change?

Competence Area 4: Elaborating strategies for change processes as follow-up in your organization: Individual change plans and peer support – key elements for change strategies


 financial conditions:

Accommodation and food are free.

Registration fee: 150€ per participant for Partners from EU

Reimbursement of the travel expenses: Depending on the distance (for Austria 275€), you will receive the full amount of travel allowance as in the table below. (Please book the most economic flight or train or bus ticket. Please note that we need a ticket and boarding pass as well as a proof of payment and will reimburse you the amount in the below table.)
